Dieter Nehring
President
Dieter Nehring, graduated in electronic engineering, dedicated most of his life as a successful businessman in the electronics industry in Brazil, having served as CEO of several companies. In 2006, he entered the health sector, more specifically in the hearing aid industry.
Born in a Christian home, he learned the Word of God since he was a child. At the age of 9, after losing his younger brother to cancer, he understood the brevity of life and decided to give his life to Christ and made a public commitment to obey God for the rest of his life.
He has been blessed by God with a beautiful family, wife, 3 children and 2 grandchildren. And he has sought to serve God in his family, at church and through his professional activities.
In 2019, feeling God’s direction, he moved to Charlotte (NC) in the United States, where he opened a Hearing Center. Attending the local Calvary Church, he felt touched by the church’s missionary vision and understood that God had a greater purpose for his coming to Charlotte, which was not just for business reasons.
While talking to one of the church leaders about the Hearing Center, he was asked if he knew how many times the Bible mentions the word “hear” and was impressed by the answer: 1,769 times. The same leader read him the verse from Romans 10:17, which says that “faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” This well-known verse took on another meaning after that conversation and served as inspiration for the events that would follow from then on.
At that moment, it became clear how important hearing is for man’s salvation.
Using a hearing aid is not only a benefit to provide a better quality of life, but it is through hearing that the Word of God reaches man’s heart and causes what the Bible calls “new birth.”
Impacted by this new vision, God inspired Dieter to create HEAR THE WORD ministry.
Mary Barnett
Hearing Specialist
Mary Barnett has been a Hearing Instrument Specialist since 2013. She has an Associate’s Degree in Science from Brevard College and a Bachelor Degree of Science in Biology from Meredith College. Mary received her Hearing Instrument Specialist training and certification in 2014.
Mary believes it an honor to meet the hearing and spiritual needs of clients through the Hear The Word ministry. “Each person that walks into my office is a divine appointment and it’s my privilege to help them with their hearing loss and show them the love of God that they may have never experienced.”
Mary grew up in Charlotte and has been married to Doug Barnett for more than 35 years. She is blessed with five children, all of whom she homeschooled. Mary and Doug are leaders at their local Church, and go on short term mission trips all over the world.
